Making the most of it
Life at this time of the year is just as crazy busy as ever.Life is always busy. Full Stop. It's easy to let opportunities go by. Generally the rewards far outweigh the little bit of extra effort required - but when life is what it is, it's easy to forget that. Saturday night, we did just that - put that wee bit of extra effort in. It was a beautiful Summer's evening - too nice to let it pass by. We're lucky enough that we live just walking distance from the beach - at the moment. So we decided to take our dinner to the beach and spend the last of the evening warmth by the deep blue sea. I'm so glad that we made the most of it - so glad we hi-jacked Ashley & Meg's brilliant idea (even promising to eat at the other end of the beach to them - they're nearly 14 you know!) - so glad that even though we had other plans for the evening, we shoe-horned in a quick trip to the beach.
These are the images I will look back on in 10 years time - look back on them fondly and will be able to remember the cool breeze we had - taking the edge off the evening's summer sun. I'll remember my eldest pulling ridiculous faces, while the other two braved the not quite luke warm waters for a late dip. I'll remember Meg's hilarious stomping to make footprints in the sand. Mostly I'll remember actually how easy it was to do, and that we should do it much more often.
